About
I recently completed a PhD in Political Science. My thesis examines religious organisations as pressure groups in refugee policy making in contemporary Australia (focusing on the years of the Howard government, 1996-2007). Churches act as vocal pressure groups in this policy area, and that religious organisations are distinct from many of their counterparts in the political milieu. The differentiated approach employed in my thesis has broader implications for political science in understanding the operation of pressure groups.
I currently work part-time for the Australian Government as a policy analyst, and guest lecture in political science at the ANU.
